R. Ray Chitty

President

A native of Valdosta and graduate of Valdosta High School and Valdosta State University, Ray Chitty began his banking career at First National Bank in 1973. He was hired by The Park Avenue Bank in 1991 as a Vice President, and was promoted to Executive Vice President in 1997. In 2001, he was named President of The Park Avenue Bank of Valdosta. Mr. Chitty came to Guardian Bank in March 2002 and serves as President of Guardian Bank. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia Banking School as well as the LSU School of Banking. Active in community service, Mr. Chitty currently chairs the South Georgia Medical Center Foundation and the Salvation Army Advisory Board. He has worked actively for the United Way, Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts, Valdosta State University Athletic Association and the Georgia Bankers Association.
